Learning is the way to acquire knowledge of something through study, experience, or performing various exercises, in order to acquire tools that make us learn about certain topics. There are people who acquire the learning of a topic of their interest through practice, others need to dedicate hours of study, but no matter what your case is, today we want to share some learning tips that will also help you acquire study skills.

Learning tips and study skills

There are some steps that can help you acquire greater learning and study skills such as:

1. Memorization

Memorization is effective when it comes to short content or information, as it allows them to be repeated easily. A memorization technique when studying through memorization is to make acronyms (the union of elements of two or more words), as if to give a very simple example: FIFA (International Federation of Association Football).

2. Partnership

Another of the learning and skills tips is study is the association. This method works when new and complex knowledge is being acquired. Through the association, you can link to other knowledge already acquired the new ones. Whether through songs, photographs, or personal experiences.

3. Motivation

Motivation is essential for the learning process since at this point it is more about the willingness we have to acquire the knowledge of something we do not know. This is one of the strategies better known as support and has a more psychological than a practical relationship with the individual.

4. Practice

There is a saying that practice makes the master. For many people, it is more effective to put into action what they are learning until they reach the desired knowledge. An example that we can name is the kitchen. Practice a recipe until it is perfect, through trial and error. By practicing, this being a study skill, you can learn more than we expect.

5. Organize study schedules

Set a time limit when studying. It is better to dedicate short periods of time but that are really effective to have greater study skills. Dedicate spaces of around 30 minutes so that your attention is more productive and you can assimilate the information you are receiving.

6. Everything you need on hand before you start

Laptop, notebook and pen with a cup of tea on a desk as an example of learning tips and study skills.

Once the study schedules are established, you must always have at hand all the material you will need, this will avoid distractions and make your learning routine more effective. This point is associated with the previous one in the sense of organization, which is key. An orderly environment both physically and mentally greatly facilitates study skills.

7. Routine

You must be consistent when studying, so having a routine, as we do with exercise or mealtimes, to acquire greater study skills and learning strategies, routine is essential. When schedules are set and organized, skills become noticeable and learning manifests itself correctly.

8. Make notes

As we mentioned earlier in memorization, notes are very useful when acquiring better skills to study. Making a small summary of what was read in the study routine or an outline, will help you put into practice what you have recently learned, and can remain engraved in the memory.

9. Repeated

Repeating is a learning strategy that is associated with memory. By repeating with constancy what we have been studying, it will also help to record the knowledge in our memory.

10. Explain what you have learned

Two women talking as an example of learning tips.

When we explain to another person what we have learned in our own words, we get greater benefits. On the one hand, we will be reinforcing our knowledge and we will also have the opportunity to reformulate them, in this way they will be better assimilated. This practice is also a self-assessment through which we can identify weaknesses and strengths and thus rectify what has not yet been fixed in our memory or in the ability to put it into practice.
